Composite bonding and porcelain veneers can both lead to beautiful outcomes! The right choice will depend on your specific situation, but they both have pros and cons.
Porcelain veneers usually have the best esthetics and look the most natural when compared to composites. Due to the nature of the porcelain, they are resistant to picking up stains. They can work great for covering up dark teeth, changing the shape of your teeth, and giving you an entire smile makeover. Veneers require taking away a thin layer of tooth structure, which composite often doesn't require. Lastly, they are typically more costly than composite bondings, but the outcome often makes it worth it.
Composite bondings are great for small chips in teeth or hiding small areas of discoloration. They are very conservative and often require no drilling whatsoever. They can be used to cover an entire tooth but usually don't look as nice as a porcelain veneer. They do cost less than porcelain veneers but will pick up stains more easily which may lead to them needing replacement every few years.
Ultimately, our job at The Hudson Yards Dental Studio at Luxe Rx is to review the pros and cons of each for your smile to help you make the best choice. If you are interested in changing your smile please reach out to us so we can review your options

Dental bonding and porcelain veneers are both ways to improve the esthetics of your teeth. There are a few main differences between the two.
Dental bonding is done directly in the mouth with a material called composite. Often we do not need to remove any tooth structure in order to add bonding, although it does depend on certain factors.
Porcelain veneers are made by a lab outside of the mouth and then cemented into place. Typically some light sanding down of the teeth is required to get a good result. Porcelain veneers are usually more aesthetic and lifelike than bonding and because of this are more expensive. Lastly, porcelain veneers typically have a longer lifetime than dental bonding which is more likely to stain in a shorter period of time.

When you choose porcelain veneers to enhance your teeth, you can potentially be enjoying your new smile in a matter of weeks. Veneers are micro-thin shells of porcelain designed to fit over your teeth and cover imperfections. Dr. Wong and Dr. Pole will work closely with you to plan your new smile during a consultation, and then the fun begins! We use the Digital Smile Design (DSD) system to customize your perfect smile.
During your next visit, we will prepare your teeth for your porcelain veneers by removing a minimal amount of enamel from your teeth, so your veneers have a seamless fit our your tooth. We will also create temporary veneers that you will wear until your final restorations are completed. For the next week or so, your veneers will be hand-crafted at a local dental laboratory based on the customized digital design we made with you during the first visit. This gives you time to get used to a new look and feel of your teeth with veneers while wearing your temporary restorations.
Once your final veneers are completed, you will return to The Hudson Yards Dental Studio to have them placed. Your dentist will make any necessary adjustments at this time to ensure that you are entirely satisfied and excited with your results.

The latest trend is pop on veneers or snap on smile. While we understand the desire to have immediate results, we don’t recommend pop on veneers due to poor fit and bulk of material, which can lead to gum inflammation. If you’re looking for non-invasive veneers, composite bondings are a good option and does not require shaving your teeth.
IV THERAPY:
-
Each IV drip takes approximately 30 minutes. Allow some extra time on your first visit to speak with our team about your goals.
-
The frequency of treatments will depend on your goals, condition, and the formulation of your customized IV treatment. We will create a plan that’s right for you.
-
The physiological effects of each treatment on energy and immunity levels typically last about 3 weeks. However, the real results of the treatments build up over time and are long-lasting.
BOTOX & FILLERS:
-
You can expect the full results of Botox treatment to develop within 1-2 weeks of treatment.
-
On average, the results typically last about 3-4 months. As you continue to utilize Botox, results will lead to prolonged and cumulative effects as indicated in this study about ‘Preventive, Cumulative Effects of Botulinum Toxin Type A in Facial Aesthetics.’
-
The length of time fillers last depends primarily on the product selected and the area of injection. Lip fillers can last 6-12 months, while cheek and jawline fillers can last 1-2 years, depending on the product used.
-
When filler is injected, volume is instantly added. It can take about 1-2 weeks for the filler to settle and swelling to subside, revealing your final result.
-
Injection of cosmetic filler does not result in any downtime, although it is advised that you do not apply makeup to the injected area for the remainder of the day following the injection. You can expect some swelling and possible bruising following the injections, which typically subside within 1-2 weeks.
